At the East coast of Cyprus you may find many of the most beautiful and clean beaches from Larnaca bay to Ayia Napa and Protaras. A lot of tourists each year travel on this part of the island.

The predominate summer wind is a sea breeze that usually blows in from the W. It gets up about midday, blows between 3 and 6, and dies down at night. Away from the coast, the wind tends to be SW but closer in it follows the outline of the coastline so that at Larnaca, it blows from SSW-S. Gales can blow from all directions, but most frequently blow from S or E.

During the wintertime, the wind may blow from the North (is not typical) early in the morning and then stop at midday for a couple of hours and then changes for the West.

In the summer, there is frequently a sea fog in the early morning, which can reduce visibility to less than a mile. It is usually dispersed by midday. Southeast desert winds bring dust to the area.
